Depression, anxiety, stress, anger, bereavement, sexual abuse, self-esteem, family and student life are all issues I am able to support clients with in private practice in Hove.

Hello, my name is Anusia Manduk-Cheyne and I am a Qualified and BACP Registered Person-Centred Counsellor.

I offer long or short term individual counselling to adults (18+) at my practice in Hove.

My pronouns are he / him / his.

I have over 17 years experience in supporting those who may be more vulnerable within our communities. In my career I have specialised in disability rights advocacy and domestic abuse advocacy (cis, heterosexual and LGBTQI*).

I am passionate about equality and supporting clients to live their life the way they want to live it.

I have walked the path of being a client in a long term Person-Centred therapeutic relationship for some years, and have also experienced shorter term therapeutic relationships.

My own personal experience of therapy lead me to finding my own empowerment and autonomy as a client. These experiences, my passion for humanity and the offering of empathy, are what have lead me to being a therapist.

"People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be.

When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying,"Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner."

I don't try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.”

Carl R. Rogers

I have worked as a counsellor at Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Service (MCPS), in Ealing, London, and at London Friend, the UK’s oldest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans charity.

I am a registered BACP Member. I am committed to my own personal and professional development, attending regular clinical supervision and attending Continuing Professional Development training.

I follow the BACP code of Ethics, which you can download here.
